This pendant was meticulously drilled and cut by hand from an actual 200 peso coin from Colombia. It features a scarlet macaw parrot.
The scarlet macaw is found in Central and South America. It is a large red, yellow and blue parrot, and is the national bird of Honduras. Macaws are the largest parrots in the world and can grow up to 33 inches from beak to tail. Due to loss of rainforest habitat and trade for the exotic pet market, the scarlet macaw is endangered in some regions.
This coin is 22.4 mm and is golden in color. It comes on a strong and hypoallergenic 20" stainless steel chain. Other chain or cord options are possible upon request.
